GM has announced that it is considering selling its stake in the Swedish brand – Saab. According to Fritz Henderson, GM’s vice chairman and chief operating officer, GM is looking to sell Saab as soon as possible and said the brand is currently under review.
“We will look at all the possible options, including possible sale, starting immediately,” Henderson said in a conference call with Automotive News.
GM’s new business plan that it submitted to Congress yesterday said that it will focus on its “core brands” including Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC and Buick. Along with Saab, GM is also looking at alternatives for the Saturn brand.
