Aerocar: One of six flying plane cars for sale on eBay

One of the only six vehicles certified for flying is now on the auction block over at eBay. The Aerocar, which can be converted from a plane to a car in just 5 minutes, was built my Molt Taylor in 1956 and is now on sale on eBay for a whopping Buy it Now price of $3.5 million – originally it was priced at $24,812.

The Aerocar can do 100 mph in the air and after landing the wings, rudder, and a part of the fuselage neatly fold into the trailer.

So you’re probably thinking by now whether or not the Aerocar is still capable of flight. It’s first flight was in 1949 and its last was in 1977 – so the answer is no. Sellers Carl and Marilyn Felling, who bought it in 1981, intended on getting it to fly again but couldn’t come up with the finances for the project.
