After attracting a lot of criticism for flying in his corporate jet in an earlier round of congressional testimony, FoMoCo’s CEO Alan Mulally will be heading to the congressional hearings in D.C., this week in a Ford Escape Hybrid.

According to Automotive News, Mulally will leave Detroit today to make the 9-hour drive but we’re sure others (security) will follow him all the way to D.C. – and we’re really hoping they don’t drive Lincoln Navigators, Ford Explorers or Ford Excursions. No word yet on how GM’s Rick Wagoner or Chrysler’s Nardelli plan on getting there.

Have any other vehicle in mind that Mulally could have driven from Ford’s lineup? Have your say in the comments section below. We think that the new 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid would’ve been a better choice.

He should have taken the new F-150 to show congress that they are still the ones to beat when it comes to pickups.

They should have come up with this plan themselves instead of being embarrassed into it. Why would you give money to such reactionary “leaders”? Let em die. Feel the pain. Shut down. Retool.
