Mitsubishi pulls out of 2009 Detroit Auto Show

Mitsubishi has announced that it will no longer attend the 2009 Detroit Auto Show in January following Rolls-Royce, Land Rover, Ferrari and Suzuki who announced their withdrawal earlier. Reason for Mitsubishi canceling its appearance?

The Japanese automaker says that it is looking to save money due to the slow down of the global economy and an auto-industry sales decline. According to AutoWeek, it doesn’t end there. Other automakers are also reviewing their plans to attend future auto shows.

At the 2008 GM cancelled two product launches including the 2010 Cadillac CTS and the 2010 Buick LaCrosse. Volkswagen also cancelled plans to reveal a new roadster concept which it will now display at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.
