Legislation to be introduced later this week by majority Democrats in the House and Senate is going to call for a $25 billion in low-interest bridge loans to GM, Ford and Chrysler from the $700 billion bailout package set aside for the financial institutions.

The Big 3 executives will head to Detroit to ask for immediate help, and GM is getting a head start by asking employees, retirees, dealers, suppliers and you to write to their member of Congress to show support for the auto industry.

GM has put together a video and a website showing the impact that the auto industry has on the U.S. economy in terms of growth, jobs, health care benefits, government tax loss along with the well-being of other large industries.

Just to be fair, you can write your representatives in Washington to let them know that you oppose any help to GM, Ford, Chrysler and the UAW, too.

Why should we help a complete failure? I don’t see Audi asking for bail out. The big three should get sold to a real car manufacturer.
