A Georgetown University law professor is getting a lot of media attention after reports surfaced that he might be President-elect Barack Obama’s new car czar. Daniel Tarullo, an expert on international economics may lead a team that will look at policies to help out our struggling auto industry.
His office did not return any phone calls, according to a report by Automotive News. Tarullo, who teaches international economic regulation, international law and banking law at Georgetown University, served in the Clinton administration and is also former chief counsel to the staff of Sen. Edward Kennedy.
Tarullo has been reported to be giving the President-elect his expertise on the auto industry and if a bailout would actually help the Big 3 make it through the economic storm.
