Chevrolet Camaro Convertible put on hold

Chrysler has already confirmed that it will not offer a convertible version of the Dodge Challenger. According to a new report by Motor Trend GM has put a hold on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro convertible which was expected to make its debut next year with sales to begin early 2010.

Why? Well, you can blame the economic storm, credit markets, and Chrysler’s and GM’s operating capital as both companies are on the brink of bankruptcy.

Even though the Camaro convertible had already been planned and was ready for production GM says that it doesn’t have enough cash on hand to justify the model to be profitable. So when will the Camaro convertible hit the market? That all depends on whether GM makes it through the storm. If it does, the Camaro convertible could be back in the product plans for the 2011 model year.

it is not looking good for GM....but if they can just hold on untill Obama takes office they will survive for another year or two but there is a good chance we wont even see any 2011 GM's at all!!! =O

From what I have read in the WSJ, it looks like GM won't make it to New Years day without taxpayer dollars.

Inept managment and UAW greed should not be redeemed by the hard working American taxpayer
