GM recently delayed product launches for many of its brands but the schedule is on track for the 2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Truck. Honestly, we would much rather see the Cadillac CTS Coupe on the road before the Pontiac G8 ST but you can’t always have what you want.

According Jim Hopson, production is scheduled to start in July 2009 with the first units to go on sale in the U.S. in fall of 2009. The rear-wheel-drive Pontiac G8 ST will be built in Australia after which it will take about two months to ship the pickup to the U.S.

Hopson says that pricing for the 316-hp V8 model will start below $30,000. A V6 model is also being considered.

bad idea. first off, gm did not label it a chevy. also in a time where you can buy hefty trucks for $30k – why would anyone purchase this? and only 316hp for the V8!?! doesnt the base V6 camaro get 300hp for under $25? there are alot of ruff edges that gm must iron out before deciding to roll out new models, i.e. the $45k Volt!!! – ridiculous. pushing relaes dates for cruz model back further – blasphemy!!!
