It seems like the only time we report on Volvo is when rumors pop-up of the Ford-owned company being sold to another automaker. Earlier this year, it was reported that Ford and Renault had started talking once again in a possible acquisition of Volvo by Renault.

Today, TimesOnline is reporting that Ford is now talking to BMW as it looks to raise cash. “Senior” sources told TimesOnline that Ford is in preliminary talks with BMW to sell its stake in Volvo.

A BMW spokesman said that ”no talks have taken place.” BMW and Ford were once rumored to have held talks two years ago about a possible collaboration with Jaguar and Land Rover. Ford ended up selling the two brands to Tata Motors.
