Volvo delays XC90 and S60 redesigns while it works on DRIVe hybrid

Volvo will be delaying the redesign versions of the XC90 SUV and the S60 sedan while it focuses its time and tight budget to move into new segments and technologies. The redesigned versions of the two popular Volvo models will arrive in 2012 or 2013. Minor facelifts will have to do until then.
Volvo will be allocating its resources to DRIVe hybrid technologies. Next year Volvo models will start getting start/stop technology.
A new diesel-electric hybrid will arrive in 2012. According to Volvo, the hybrid system will be composed of a 5-cylinder turbodiesel engine along with an electric motor. Volvo says that the hybrids will be able travel at low speeds on electric power alone.
