Mercury is expected to add a small car to its lineup by 2010 and according to Ford of Europe’s CEO John Fleming, it may be developed and engineered in Europe. Ford hasn’t given any details on the car but says that it will be similar to the Focus and will be based on a Ford vehicle, like most Mercury models.

According to Fleming, FoMoCo will likely produce the car in Europe because his division is responsible for C-car vehicles.

Well at least you can expect your next Mercury to have sleek European styling, good engineering and reliable quality.
