From what i remembered, Merc had a concept Diesel hybrid a year ago along with the gasoline one. When will they bring the BlueTec Hybrid to life? It seems that they are building this Blue technology image with their BlueTec, BlueHybrid, BlueEfficiency. I hope they are going to realize the Diesel Hybrid to make it the ultimate choice for everyone.

We know how efficient their BlueTech CDI models are, so why not further enhance it with the hybrid module? It would be the ultimate fuel saver if u'd ask me. It would probably break the mpg records for cars produced to-date!

Probably, but whats more so, the 5.5L V8 will probably see a bump to 400hp with a hybrid module installed. :)

Its just about time that Mercedes revamped their entire engine lineup, the current 3.5L V6 is ages old, the 5.5L V8 SEEMS ages old. Only the diesels and the 6.3L V8 seem to have any gusto. And the hybridization of the powertrains explains that I think: they'll probably do some light tweaking to the engines as they are now, but Mercedes must of been working on adding a hybrid module to all their engines for the past 5+ years. Its all coming together now..
