2009 SMS 570 Challengers produce up to 700-hp, pricing starts at $60k

SMS, Steve Saleen’s new company, recently celebrated the automotive icon’s 25th anniversary in the business with the launch of the 720-hp SMS 25th Anniversary Mustang Concept. Now SMS is ready to launch its Signature Series of ultra-high performance vehicles with the SMS 570 Challenger.

Based on the 2009 Dodge Challenger R/T, the SMS 570 and SMS 570X Challenger both carry a SMS 296 Supercharger on the 5.7L HEMI. That gives both cars the ability to produce a total of 500-hp to over 700-hp respectively.

Production will kick off later this year with prices starting at $60,000 for the 2009 SMS 570 Challenger and $70,000 for the SMS 570X Challenger. Both models will carry a bumper-to-bumper warranty.
