At the end of last week, Volkswagen released the official details on the 2010 Volkswagen Golf GTI that will be shown at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. Various sources are now reporting that Volkswagen has two more Golf variants planned besides the 207-hp GTI.
First on the list is the Golf GTD. The GTD variant will be powered by a 2.0L common rail turbo-diesel producing 170-hp. Pricing will start at 27,225 euros, or about $39,340.
Next will be the much anticipated all-wheel-drive ‘R’ variant. Power will come from the GTI’s 2.0L turbocharged unit, but will be customized to produce 270-hp.
