Chevrolet says that their 2009 Traverse crossover want to and can dominate the large-crossover segment, leaving behind rivals such as the Toyota Highlander, Honda Pilot and the new Ford Flex. Chevrolet says that with a larger retail network and more incentives, the Traverse can become the best-selling vehicle in its segment.

Chevrolet’s main boss Ed Peper says that the Traverse can outsell the Highlander and Pilot which sold 127,878 and 117,146 units in 2007 respectively.

Peper says that Chevy is planning to offer cash rebate to non-GM vehicle owners who buy the new Traverse. Currently, Chevy is offering a $2,000 cash rebate to buyers coming off leases with GMAC.

The 2009 Chevrolet Traverse is powered by a 3.6 liter direct injection V6 capable of 288-hp, 18 more than other Lambda SUVs, and 270 lb-ft of torque, 22 more than other Lambda SUVs.

I like the looks of this car BUT and a BIG BUT the Chevy Traverse, the GMC Acadia and the Buick are pretty much the exact same car. Why does this bother me? It just does, this is coming out of the gates as a new model yet in peoples mind its already old. Nothing new here. GM will try to market this as their new car but its been out already.

Imagine if they just built one version of their cars, they would be able to watch it become hot in the marketplace and dealers would demand a premium for the honor of selling you a car. (like the Highlander )

Its too bad as I'm in the market for a new family hauler (can not stomach a minivan) and these 3 cars are off my list due to style/looks dilution.

I agree. I've always hated the way they produce one car and slap three different brand names on it

nothings new? the body is all new, the engine is new, the interior is new, and the dampers have own settings the only major parts that are not new are the frame and trans axle.

Your wrong. GMC Acadia, Saturn Version and Buick Version have been out already. Have you been in a cave.
