Honda has launched a site that teases the next-generation Odyssey mini-van due out in Japan in a couple of weeks. From the teaser images on the site it seems Honda will return to the traditional hinged rear-doors instead of the sliding door seen on the current model.

The redesigned Honda Odyssey is expected in the U.S. as a 2010 model year. Honda is also considering bringing its Stream minivan to the U.S. by 2010 as a rival to the Mazda5.

The JDM Odyssey is a completely different vehicle from the USDM Odyssey in the same way that the JDM Accord [available in Euro-R form stateside as a TSX] is different from the USDM Accord [incidentally available in EXV6 form J-side as an Inspire].

The current JDM Odyssey and the next-gen one pictured in the teaser are equivalent to the size of the 1995-1998 Odyssey that failed here and, in fact, also had hinged doors.

I'm pretty sure the american version will have sliding doors.
