Spies recently caught the upcoming Mercedes-Benz SLC Gullwing undergoing some hot-weather testing and from the looks of it, the camoeflage is slowly coming off and we’re slowly seeing hints of the legendary 300 SL. Thank God they got rid of that hideious VIper thing they had going on.

So what’s the update on this upcoming beast from Mercedes? Word on the street is that it will be powered by a 600-hp 6.3L V8 from AMG allowing for a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.8 seconds with a top speed above 200 mph. Rumors suggest that the SLC Gullwing may even hit close to 650-hp.

Pricing is expected to be around 150,000 euros ($215,272 USD).

The SLR, Gullwing AMG, SL, SLC, CL,.... is there really a clear market for each of these segments?
