There are some people out there that just don’t like change – even when that change means something good for the environment. It can be said that the Toyota Prius has become the icon for driving eco-friendly, but it seems that the cheese-wedge shaped hybrid has also become an icon for disdain against treehuggers.

In a recently concluded investigation, it was found that the fire that consumed a new Prius in LA was the work of an arsonist. The owner of the Prius heard an explosion outside her house followed by sirens of fire trucks – only to find out that her car had been set ablaze.

In Petaluma, California, at least 7 Prius hybrids were damaged in two-weeks. All of the attacks were said to be made at night time when the cars were parked. The attackers used rocks, bricks and cars used to ram a Prius.

Owner Nina Perkins woke up to her Prius being hammered to the body and the windshield. Another woman’s Prius was in a shop after being attacked twice. While it was in the shop, the Prius that she rented was smashed with a large rock.

No arrests have been made.

Does sound like payback for attack son so called gas guzzlers where activists attacked tires in neighborhoods or destroyed cars at dealerships. Kind of a what goes around comes around. Back stuff, but not unforeseen. Sounds like any 'bad' thing done for a 'good' reason may be revisited in a 'good thing' down for a 'bad reason'.
