According to FoMoCo’s product development chief Derrick Kuzak, Lincoln may get a compact C-segment vehicle.

“We do think that there is room for a smaller car in the Lincoln brand,” Kuzak said at a press event here.

According to industry analysts and FoMoCo suppliers, Ford will replace the Escape crossover early next year with a global compact SUV based on the European Ford Kuga. Lincoln is reported to get a version of that car in early 2010.

On a side note – Kuzak said Ford has no plans to offer the Ford Ka in the U.S.
