Dealers to start taking 2010 Chevrolet Camaro orders next month

Earlier this morning we saw the first official image of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS. The image wasn’t accompanied by any press release but Terry Rhadigan, a Chevy spokesman, told InsideLine some interesting tidbits earlier today.
Rhadigan said that the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro V6 and the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS will both be available to order starting October. That’s a bit early considering production won’t start until mid-February of next year and deliveries won’t begin until mid-March. Rhadhigan said that interested buyers may have to put down a depoist to get in line for the Camaro but that is totally up to the dealers.
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro V6 is powered by a 3.6 liter V6 unit producing 300-hp and returning an estimated 26mpg. Rhadigan says that the 422-hp Camaro SS will return an estimated 23mpg. Pricing is expected start in the low $20k for the V6 model while the Camaro SS could hit over $30k.
