i agree, this car looks too much like the classic GM rental car special (old cavaliers/sunfires and malibus). looks a little like an underdesigned mazda 3 (maybe its just the red?)

I have to admit the Malibu grew on me, but this design reeks of every bad small GM design for the past decade. Is it sporty is it classy is it funky is it retro? I could go on and on about the details of this design no coming together to form any cohesive language. Bottom line, its just not pretty, or handsome, or desirable. The current Cobalt is at least pleasing to the eye if a bit lacking in character. This is probably what happens when people with no character try to design cars that have some. Nada.

So why does the U.S. have to wait 13 months to get this car in the U.S. if it is being built int he U.S? That just does not make any sense. Is the Cobalt selling so well that they can afford to continue to build it over this car? Oh wait, I bet there is some crappy ass agreement with the Union that requires the Cobalt be built at a certain plant up to a certain date.
