Chrysler’s design to get sexier, design and engineering working closer together
Newly appointed vice president of design Ralph Gilles says he wants to lead Chrysler into a new era of more ‘organic’ styling with improved cooperation between design and engineering to produce better-looking vehicles. Gilles says Chrysler is done with the 5th generation looks of the SUVs like the Dodge Nitro.
“It’s definitely time for a new aesthetic at Chrysler,” says Ralph Gilles, said in an interview with Automotive News. “We’re done with the ‘Edge’ look.”
Gilles pointed out to concepts such as the Dodge Zeo and Chrysler’s ecoVoyager as a hint of what future Chrysler cars may look like.
We look forward to seeing a more quality interior that Gilles was in charge of before. The interior of the 2009 Dodge Ram, Gilles says, is the best interior to ever come from Chrysler.
