Before the Hyundai Genesis, the Hyundai Equus held the Korean crown for the large luxury sedan. The car was produced with collaboration with Mitsubishi and was sold in South Korea, Europe, China and the Middle East. But Hyundai stopped caring about the Equus when the Genesis came out – which makes a lot of sense.
What doesn’t make a lot of sense now is that Hyundai is working on the next generation Equus and according to this teaser it will take a lot of styling cues from the Genesis.
According to Hyundai Blog, the Equus will make its official debut in February 2009 and will be offered with a 5.0L Tau engine producing between 400 and 420 horsepower. A larger V8 and a smaller 4.6L is also expected.
