Struggling Scion is losing its edginess. Monthly sales for Scion have been on a downward spiral since last September and according to analysts the ‘cool/youth’ brand isn”t attracting its targeted consumer base as well as it did in 2004-2005.

Besides a cheap hybrid that we’ve already heard about, Scion executives are saying the want to expand the lineup beyond the xB, xD and tC. According to Automotive News, a version of the Toyota Urban Cruiser is an option being considered for Scion.

Executives are even considering a mini-pickup based on the A-BAT concept. Not sure how that will be accepted by the Scion crowd – but it seems like Toyota is willing to do anything to save the struggling brand.

I think the need to add more “sporty” designs and get rid of the “funky”….their funky looks dont appeal to a large enough target market

Is Scion really doing THAT bad that the auto press is all over it?

How about they make cars that–I don't know?–look not fugly…

The loads of standard safety features are nice in a small car, but maybe they need to go a little up market to compete with MINI….
