Toyota to produce Solara for another 2 years due to demand

Toyota was ready to discontinue the Solara convertible this month – however, after customers and dealers were unhappy to see the car go, Toyota said it will keep producing the model for at least another two years.

“It was a car our customers demanded. They wanted it,” he said.

Steve St. Angelo, president of Toyota’s Kentucky factory said that Toyota is still working out the numbers but the factory produced 28,479 units last year.

Toyota does not break down how man Solara units its sells from its Camry figures.
