A tire pressure monitoring system also is standard, and anti-lock brakes are an available option.

Commitment to Quality

All Focus models are built at the Wayne, Mich., Stamping and Assembly Plant, which delivers even greater high-end manufacturing methods, thanks to Ford’s $130 million investment in quality. Much of the funding was dedicated to enlarging and upgrading the body shop, and included the installation of new robots with precise welding guns that attach the body sides to the underbody. The plant also installed 130 new direct-current electric hand tools with error-proofing for use during assembly. These new tools reduce workers’ strain and allow for constant precision monitoring during the build. Every Focus is also scanned by Perceptron vision cameras to measure the dimensional integrity for fit and finish to help eliminate squeaks and rattles. These and other numerous factory based improvements mesh with the car”s engineering upgrades to produce an even more refined vehicle.
