While our bank accounts are being drained of high gas-prices, a Sheikh residing in Qatar is flying his Lamborghini LP640 to-and-from Heathrow for service. A rich Arab Sheikh sent his Lamborghini on a 6,500 mile round trip to Britain for an oil change costing him a total of £20,000 – close to $40,000 USD. That’s one expensive service.

And Lamborghini wasn’t nice enough to give the Sheikh a brake. The black-and-gold LP640 cost £3,552 ($7,040) to service at an approved dealer.

Of course environmentalists and green-loving people blasted the Sheikh for going through all this to get his Lambo serviced.

Jenny Evans of pressure group Plane Stupid, said: “This horrifies me. It is another example of how rich people exploit and pollute the planet because of their money.”

Wont that way of lashing it to the Payload bed ruin the rims? Sure its OK on a Landrover but a Lambo? Scary.
  • Don Simpson
My only question is : Why didn't he send the car to the lambo factory in Italy?!?

If I was part of the green party, looking at a morning traffic jam would horrify me. Not some rich guy spending money on what makes him happy. A dream of mine is to own every flagship Ferrari there ever was. Farfetched.....I know. But what im trying to say is that to me the price of happiness is wateva it takes. Big ups to him.

these peole are beyond rich... and sending the car to london is not because they don't have time... they have plenty of time on their hands, I think they're bored. That's why they spend so much. Anyways would you work if you had say, 15 billion in the bank? at 2% interest its 3 million a year... I know I wouldn't :)
  • kudasax
correction, 2% of 15 billion is 300 million.

So judgemental. You guys don't even know if he's donating or helping his fellow Qatarians. I also see that you people know nothing of Qatar. A country were the wealthy buy athletes from other countries to represent Qatar for national pride, where citizens don't pay taxes becuase of oil money. With a population of about 1 million people, they have one of the highest GDPs per capita and one of the lowest unemployments rates. Check ur facts next time u lash out.

I agree, we could do the same in the US without President Bush and corrupt politians involved in a non-sense war

How can a sheik justify paying so much money to SERVICE a CAR, while common people on the streets of Qatar live in poverty? I am by no means a hippy or human rights activist, but this is just ridiculous. Why not use that money and actually do something good for the general population instead of being selfish and indulging in unnecessary materials...

I will admit that I wish I could afford a nice car like that, but this is just too much. I doubt I will ever even drive a lambo, but just because you can, doesn't mean you should

Do this American practice of poking ur nose in to other ppls business and u will have an internal war. Dont help the ppl with handout u dummy give them opportunities if they take it then they are smart and will live if they dont, then let em die nature would do the same thing!!!
  • Tony
But don't you think that you could provide opportunities for these people with all that money?

mariotuzzo just so u know when ur royalty your beyond rich, your wealthy, your not running out of money anytime soon. Rich ppl are now facing forclosure coz they bought S classes to look like they r important but they earn hi invest low save lower and spend all cos they are rich AKA new money and want to live the good life. wealthy ppl got $$ from mom and dad coz mom and dad knew i was more important for junior to ball out and if he is balling there is a better chance the generations to come will too. So fly ur car to england for 20 gs son just make 20 mill in that same time u saved from changing ur own oil!!

While everyone keeps bitching about the economy and gas price they target their rage at the rich. its not their fault that you cant think outside of the box to figure out how to stop working and figure out how to be wealthy enough to afford this. When ur a seikh you have no time for the B.S of waiting for an oilchange at jiffee bube u got moves to make to make more millions where as the working class whiners and bitchers sit ant mynikey and cry about how poor they are and how uninovative they are that they cant defy societies corporate construct f u all and figure out how to get wealthy so u can understand this guys thinkin.

Wow. The sheik has to be lame. If I were rich, I would get a new car, or a local mechanic instead of going through all that show.
  • desmo101
This is the ugliest lambo I have ever seen... Money doesn't buy good taste it seems
  • Vin
Kick ass baby, kick ass, spread more of his money into the economy...
  • I understand that rich people have money, but I don't think 99% of the rich people would do this at all. Only 1% of the rich poeple would do it and that's this guy. His actions of what he already did makes him look very dumb, on how he use his money.
  • JB
More power to him. If I could, I would. We fly everyday for pleasure, why not take your car with you and get a service.
  • beeoh
i would have built a kagillion dollar bridge to connect qatar and britain so i can drive there
