Chrysler talking to Tata and Fiat for partnership

Cerberus Capital Management controlled Chrysler is talking to a number of overseas automakers to form a partnership as it looks to increase cash and tap into growing markets outside North America. According to sources familiar with the talks, Chrysler has been talks with India’s Tata Motors and Italy’s Fiat.

Chrysler is talking to Tata Motors to sell its Jeep Wrangler SUVs in India and other Asian markets. Talks with Fiat about leasing production facility in North America are also progressing. The two are also talking about retail distribution in the North American market.

Tata and Chrysler have previously been reported to be working together to sell the electric-powered version of the Tata Ace in U.S.

    ALthough having Jaguar as a partner might help Chrysler and Hemi V8's for Jag wouldn't hurt, why would you wan to get in bed with your best brands(jeep) closest rival (land Rover)
    The fiat deal would be great, Chrysler could select its elite dealers to sell Alfa Romeos (MiTo Please!!!!) a bit like BMW and Mini. And maybe a rebadge a Fiat 500 as a Neon!!!

    A Hemi in a Jag. There is no reason for that. The Hemi is not much of a brand outside of N. America. Jag would take a lot of heat for using pushrod engines.
    You are right about the LR and Jeep issue. In other parts of the world they are actually comparable.

    as long as nardelli is the ceo this company will not make money .Remember home depot before nardelli tenure?Let me remind you .Home depot had good costumer service,knowledgeable people.,as a contractor i shopped there all the time and they stomped on their competition.Nardelli came in,costumer service is gone.people working there are ignorant and undepayd and now self check out that dont work.Me as a contractor stopped shopping there and the stock price never moved .Good job Nardelli is this what you are going to do with Chrysler? AS LONG YOU ARE IN CHARGE I WILL NEVER BUY A CHRYSLER PRODUCT
