Ford already has a few 6 speeds in its parts bin, and new engine development should be a constant expense, not just a once in every great while rushed expense.

@ Jacob: the “simple” looks of the 3? Simple by what standards? All in all I like the new 3 styling better than current styling, it looks sort of Opel Insignia-ish, yet I'd never mistake it for anything but a Mazda.
