GM announced today that it will cut warranty terms on Saab models sold in the U.S. in order to save cost. The brand will continue to provide owners with free scheduled maintenance to compete with other luxury brands.

According to Joanne Krell, a company spokeswoman, GM told its Saab dealers on Friday that it will cut warranty to 4-years or 50,000 miles effective immediately. The 7-year or 100,000 mile warranty is now no longer applicable.

The free scheduled maintenance includes 3-years or 36,000 miles in addition to the warranty. Krell said the warranty cut is only for the Saab brand and does not apply to Cadillac or HUMMER.

when an auto maker drops/lowers its warranty it makes me think that they dont believe in their own product
