According to Audi insiders the Audi R8 V10 will make its official debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, building on the huge response Audi got from unveiling the Audi R8 V12 TDI Concept at the 2008 show.

Auto Motor and Sport Sweden reports that the 5.0 liter V10 TFSI will be pumping out a total of 535-hp, which should be enough to take on the Nissan GT-R’s and Chevrolet Corvette ZR1’s Nurburgring lap-time. That means the Audi R8 V10 will have to do better than the GT-R’s 7:29 and ZR1’s 7:26.4.

Source say that the R8 V10 has been bringing in lap-times close to 7:30 and easily hits 8 minutes without any trouble. Expect all the official details early next year.
