Speaking to reporters today at the launch of GM’s new Powertrain Engineering Development Center , CEO Rick Wagoner said that GM has heard from some bidders interested in buying HUMMER and is moving as fast as it can to drop the SUV gas-guzzling brand.

"We have some interested buyers," Wagoner told reporters.

It’s been previously reported that GM is talking to India’s Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra as potential buyers for HUMMER.

Tata Motors now owns the two British brands Jaguar and Land Rover after a $2.3 billion acquisition from Ford. Mahindra is planning on selling a subcompact car in the U.S. late next year.
