Doing whatever it can to move cars out of the showroom floor, GM announced today that it is extending its employee discount program beyond immediate families of its employees. According to GM’s spokeswoman Susan Garontakos, employees will now be able to offer their employee discounts to their friends and extended families through July 31st.

GM’s vice president of North American sales, Mark LaNeve, told employees of the new program via an e-mail sent out Thursday.

GM recently extended its 0% financing for 72 months incentive to July 7th . The program was originally supposed to expire on June 24th. Dealers have been seeing good success with current incentive programs according to another GM spokesperson.

Well, if you know someone that knows someone, that is a good reason to give them employee discount. Of the employees for GM cannot afford to buy a car, they don't know if they will have a job in 9 months.
