A MINI spokesperson says that the brand will indeed offer a John Cooper Works MINI convertible sometime next year. The 208 horsepower convertible of the second-generation convertible Cooper will be unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show with deliveries to begin immediately after.
According to InisideLine , not much will change equipment wise over the new John Cooper Works powertrain and drivetrain. 0-60 times will come in at 6.5 seconds – close to that of the new JCW Clubman.
Of the total 240,000 MINIs to be built in a full year, 12,000 of those will be JCW editions. 4,000 of those 12,000 will be convertible JCW editions of which 1,200 are expected to come to the U.S.
