Yesterday, GM released all the details on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro , however performance figures were held back. Nonetheless, GM engineers were more than willing to share the numbers at the press event held for the Camaro, including quarter mile and 0-60mph times.

GM’s Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser, owner of a first-generation Camaro Convertible himself, said that the 3.6 liter V6 which produces 300-hp goes from 0-60 in 6.1 seconds regardless of a manual or automatic transmission. The V6 LS and LT will cover a quarter-mile in 14.5 seconds with an automatic transmission and 14.7 with a manual. Braking power allows a 60 to 0 stop in 132 feet.

The manual 2010 Camaro SS which produces 422-hp from the 6.2L LS3 V8 goes from 0-60 in 4.9 seconds while the 400-hp automatic Camaro SS does it in 4.6 seconds. A quarter-mile run comes in 13.3 seconds while 60 to 0 with Brembo brakes comes in 117 feet.
