Naw, GM needs to go after others besides “Joe Sixpack”. If anything has been proven over the last 30 years it is that GM cannot compete with the Japanese makes with cars labled “Pontiac” or “Chevrolet.” Although Opel was not a success the first time around being sold at Buick dealers, it probably would be okay this time around, but not if GM keeps waiting for the designs to age several years before they are launched (Astra, Vectra/L-Series/Aura).

Better yet, just cut the crap vehicles and move them all under the Chevrolet brand.

Joe Sixpack has no idea what an Opel is. However, Joe Sixpack knows what a Chevy is and identifies with it.

saturn sales have been slugish… and one of the GM brands are gonna have to get the axe in the next couple of years so it doesnt look good

The fact that the Aura is delayed for a “couple of years” makes me wonder if they are even going to keep Saturn.

GM in the US loses out to Accord and Camry everyday and could import a car that is at least the equal both as well as Nissan's sedan.
No lets delay it instead

If the next generation Saturn Aura looked anything like the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, then it would be a smash hit I think.
