After all the spy shots we’ve seen up until now, Acura today released the first official image of the 2009 Acura TL. You can take your first look at the front with the milk mustache grille as seen on the 2009 Acura TSX .

The very short press release from Acura said that it will be available in fall of 2008 in two different variants including the first ever use of Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive system on a TL. Acura says that the 2009 TL will also feature the most powerful Acura engine ever – we’re guessing that means the range-topper will carry Acura’s 3.7L that produces 300-hp.

Let us know what you think of the new 2009 Acura TL in the comments section.

Not commenting on the grill but it would all look better if the lights were bigger … those slim lights do not go w/ the rest of the car.

They are obviously going for more luxury than sport nowadays.

Looks like they copied the “Hoffmeister” kink in the rear window only to end up looking like the Lexus GS/Infiniti M..

Can no one in this generation create a new look? That looks well without being so shiteous??

  • JQuick

I think the new Acuras/Hondas look great. I really don't understand why everyone bashes them.

Who in the world made the decision to use this Mad Max grill. Damn I hate it.
And that front bumper is idiotic with all these cuts in it.

Get some new designers Acura! Third generation is the best looking TL ever.

Not too bad — I guess having the RL & TSX come right before it braced us for this. Other than the extra large grille blade & the awkward vent next to the fog lights … not bad. Still not sure about the hump over the front wheel …

Is Acura done butchering their entire lineup?

  • xxx

I wonder if maybe the artist who did the above got some of the proportions wrong – particularly the grille & fender flare …

Don't be so impatient, the new RL has yet to grace us.

Reality is that Acura has polarized the style of the TL and most of their newer cars. The TL does not look bad, I too wish it had a different grill. I do really like the lines on the car, but I have to agree that the wheel arches are a bit much as is the front bumper. I am not in this price bracket so maybe this will strike that cliental differently.

other than looking exactly like the old maxima…. and sorta lexus'ish… Acura has officially lost any unique design ques… other then the buck-toothed grille..

wow.. I though they would actually save themselves with the TL.. unfortunately the only this acura fans have to look forward to is the coupe version of the TSX , the TL and the upcoming v6 diesel, which hopefully will find it's way to the TSX and finally give it AWD and over 350 torque to battle the competition. With the I4 diesel getting 250 torque, the v6 should easily surpass 350..
