Development is well in progress for the convertible version of the Maserati GranTurismo that is set to arrive next year in March. 

According to new information from AutoExpress, the Maserati GranTurismo convertible, so far known as Maserati GTC, will follow in the footsteps of the Ferrari California with a hardtop instead of a soft-top.

It will share almost everything with its coupe GranTurismo brother, however Maserati may use the 435-hp 4.7 liter V8 from the GranTurismo S to compensate for the extra burden of the folding hardtop.
