2009 BMW 7-Series leaked ahead of launch

No more fugly spy shots or unclear teasers, pictures of the new 2009 BMW 7-Series have been leaked on Flickr. As you can see from the pictures there is a very heavy influence of the CS Concept with a very large grille and smaller headlamps. The back tail-lamps have also been redesigned and again it looks like BMW designers were high when designing the rear-end of the car. The interior also gets redesigned center console with the navigation no longer having its own dashboard scoop and the new joystick gear shift replaces the indicator-style gear selector (we’ll just call it that).

Also in the images you can see a picture of the new twin-turbo V8.

No technical details are available as of yet. The official reveal has been scheduled for July 7th.

    Can styling be anymore bland. This represents BMW flagship and change? Very weak and dated. Guess they think the name "BMW' can hold off competition, don't think so.

    This has lost the prestige of a flagship, lights are OK but the sleekness of the old seven is lost some where........
    now BMW will hear the same what we heard when Merc launched the S-class.

    No more fugly spy shots... These are pretty fugly.... Awful underbite and why the hell does it look like an LS from the rear??

    This seems to go against their philosophy of independence.. The S-Class has nothing to worry about... lol...

    I am sure BMW is tired of critical words, but now it looks very Volvo, except the tail-lights. Good Work on the tail-lights!

    BMW and Lexus will have officially merged designs with this product. I would have never thought BMW would emulate Lexus design, but here we have the evidence folks. Unremarkable.

    This is unimpressive, inside and out. Hopefully the redesigned 5 series will be better.

    So much better than the E65. The design is getting better, but still kinda missing that distinctive element that really separates it from other cars (that intangible BMW touch that Bangle hasn't really figured out yet)

    Take the grille and make it one solid piece.

    After you do that, tell me that doesn't look like a Buick from the front and sides.

    I think I like Bangle' s butt better. This thing is a down, what in the world are they thinking?
    The 5serie looks more luxurious than this thing.

    The one thing that I have always preferred by the Japanese over the Germans is interiors ... this does not look like a flagship interior to me.
