Mercedes-Benz will soon be ending its relationship with McLaren as the production of the SLR comes to an end next year. Taking advantage of the occasion, Mercedes-Benz and McLaren will team up one last time to offer a special-edition SLR limited to just 75 units.

Details on the car? While technical details are a bit scarce, Auto Moto und Sport has learned that the car will be extremely lightweight and a little more powerful than other SLR McLaren models. It will be around 200 kilograms lighter than the current SLR, mainly because Mercedes-Benz decided to ditch the air conditioning and electric windows. The car will also have a body constructed of carbon fiber, ceramic brakes, side pipes and a five-speed automatic gearbox.

The special-edition SLR McLaren model will be able to do 0-186mph in 26 seconds with a top speed of 217mph, 8mph more than the 722 special-edition.

More details will be revealed on July 30th when Mercedes-Benz unveils the car its Stuttgart arena. F1 racing drive Lewis Hamilton will help Mercedes-Benz unveil the new model.
