We’re just going to start calling the 2010 Pontiac G8 Sport Truck ‘El-Camino’ from now on. The guys over at G8Nation confirmed last week that GM is still considering the El-Camino nameplate for the G8 Sport Truck and today they bring us some inside info no a V6 variant that is currently under consideration.

No surprise here – GM is considering adding a V6 version of the G8 Sport Truck for the fuel-economy conscious buyers. According to Pontiac Communication Manager Jim Hopson, GM is considering adding a 3.2L V6 that will produce 265-hp and return a fuel-economy close to the V6 G8.

This is what I like to hear. Pontiac should go after anything that improves sales, and fuel economy is #1 right now.

I dont really like the styling but its a cool idea. I think they should try to incorporrate some of the old el camino look into this and not kill it like they did with the GTO
