Tesla may supply Mercedes-Benz with lithium-ion batteries

Coming off back-to-back Tesla posts yesterday, we have some more Tesla Motors news for you today. Daimler AG has been reported to be in talks with Tesla Motors on a new technology deal. According to sources familiar with the talks, the deal involves lithium-ion batteries.
It is said that Tesla Motors will be supplying Mercedes-Benz with lithium-ion batteries for the German automakers future electric-cars. Instead of developing new lithium-ion batteries, Mercedes-Benz would rather save cost and just purchase them from Tesla Motors.
No word on if this is official as of yet, but we wouldn’t doubt it. Let’s just hope Tesla can meet capacity requirements. Mercedes-Benz’s first lithium-ion powered car will be the B-Class.
Tesla officially confirmed its Tesla Model S sedan yesterday and also promised to bring a sub $30,000 electric-car to the market within 4 years.
