Audi RS6 Sedan coming to Paris Motor Show in Oct.

So the 507-hp Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and the 500-hp BMW M5 aren’t cutting it for you but you don’t want to even look at the Audi RS6 Avant because it really kills the coolness-factor. Who really wants to be seen as father of three driving around in a high-performance station wagon?

Worry not because the Audi RS6 Sedan is on the way and will arrive in October making its world premiere at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. Power comes from the same V10 twin-turbo FSI direct-injection engine producing 580-hp.

Officer on Segway arrests 18-year old drunk driver

As gas-prices are on the rise, Americans are leaving their cars at home and are traveling short distances on their Segways (how about walking for a change?). Even cops are chasing down law-breaking citizens on their Segways. A Jackson, Michigan cop arrested an 18-year old female yesterday morning for driving while under the influence.

Of course, it wasn’t a high-speed chase. Segways top-out at around 13mph and the woman was traveling at least 40 miles per hour. The cop caught up to her when she stopped her car.

GM offering huge incentives on many Pontiac, GMC, Buick models

GM is planning to offer some big cash incentives for its GMC pickups and SUVs and Pontiac models. In a memo to its dealers earlier today, GM said it plans to offer incentives on most of its new crossovers and cars starting tomorrow (August 1st, 2008) through August 19th.

The Pontiac G8 sedan will see a $1,000 bonus while the GMC Yukon, Yukon XL and Yukon Hybrid will get $4,000 cash bonuses. The Yukon Hybrid will also see a $2,000 customer cash for a a maximum $6,000 discount.

2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart pricing announced

As we told you earlier this month the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart will carry a price tag of under $27,000. Mitsubishi has finally released the official pricing details today and well - it starts at $26,490.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter DOHC MIVEC intercooled and turbocharged engine that produces 237-hp (Evo produces 295) with a peak torque of 253 lb-ft. The engine is mated to the same new twin-clutch SST transmission from the Evo. The 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart returns a fuel-economy of 17/25mpg (city/highway).

Buyers can opt for the $2,7000 REACRO Sport Package that gives the 2009 Lancer Ralliart Xenon HID headlamps, 650 watt Rockford Fosgate, Sirius Satellite Radio and RECARO front sport seats.

Mitsubishi plans on selling 300 to 350 units a month.

Chevrolet Cruze and Cadillac CTS Coupe looked at as GM’s saviors

While GM is trying to come up with $15 billion dollars to increase its liquidity, it has no plans to stop introducing new models in segments where it matters. Of the seven new models planned, the Chevrolet Cruze and the Cadillac CTS variants are being seen as the most important.

The seven models include the upcoming Cadillac CTS coupe and wagon, Cadillac SRX, Buick Invicta, Saab 9-4X, the redesigned Chevrolet Equinox and the global-compact Chevrolet Cruze. And while the Buick Invicta may be a beautiful looking sedan and the SRX and 9-4X will be much anticipated compact SUVs, the Cruze and the CTS coupe are seen as the saviors of this group.

Video: InsideLine attempts top speed in 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR

So you think the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is the only $100,000 American muscle you can buy with 600+ horsepower with a top speed of 200mph+ that you’ll probably never hit. Well, let’s not forget the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR. The base 2008 Dodge Viper SRT-10 will cost you around $86,000 but to add on the ACR package you’ll have to cash out an additional $12,000.

Powered by an 8.4 liter V10 engine that produces 600 horsepower and 560 lb-ft. of torque, the Viper SRT-10 ACR also belongs to the 200mph+ top speed club. But where do you go to attempt that top speed?

The guys at InsideLine recently took their Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR to the Bonneville Salt Flats top attempt a top speed of more than 200mph. Check out this video of their trip.

Chrysler’s new mid-size sedan could be Fiat or Nissan Altima based

Chrysler is working on a new mid-sedans that will replace the current Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger. A new team has been assembled for the emergency overhaul called ‘Project D’ and will only concentrate on the new mid-sized sedans.

The cars aren’t expected to arrive until 2011 as a 2012 model year but are already eating up a big chunk of Chrysler’s engineering and design resources. According to MotorTrend, Chrysler is approaching the project in three different ways.

MTM RS6 R - Audi RS6 Avant with 702-hp

As if the 580 horsepower in the Audi R6 Avant wasn’t enough, tuner MTM has released a performance package that cranks up the 5.0L V10 twin-turbo output to 656 horsepower.

MTM engineers messed around with the ECU to boost power by 76 horsepower with a peak torque of 579 lb-ft. Top speed comes in at 193mph with a 0-62mph time of 3.9 seconds. The package costs a total of € 3,999 ($6,232 USD).

MTM is also working on an advanced version of the performance package which increases horsepower to 702 horsepower. The extra power is made possible with a new stainless steel exhaust system and sports air filter. Pricing will start at € 9,950 ($15,506 USD).

Sheikh flies his Lamborghini for service from Qatar to London

While our bank accounts are being drained of high gas-prices, a Sheikh residing in Qatar is flying his Lamborghini LP640 to-and-from Heathrow for service. A rich Arab Sheikh sent his Lamborghini on a 6,500 mile round trip to Britain for an oil change costing him a total of £20,000 - close to $40,000 USD. That’s one expensive service.

And Lamborghini wasn’t nice enough to give the Sheikh a brake. The black-and-gold LP640 cost £3,552 ($7,040) to service at an approved dealer.

Mercedes-Benz GLK and C-Class to get diesel in the U.S. by 2010

The 2010 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class will hit U.S. shores by early 2009. Initially, only the GLK 350 will be available in the U.S. The GLK 350 is powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine producing 268 horsepower.

This week the German luxury automaker held a press launch for the upcoming compact SUV and showed some pre-production units of the GLK 4Matic powered by an all-new turbocharged 2.2 liter CDI 4-cylinder engine. Why?

Saddam’s Rolls-Royce up for sale on eBay

This maroon Rolls-Royce you see here was supposedly own by Saddam Hussein. Up for grabs on eBay with a price tag of £185,000, it comes with papers confirming that it was owned by the former Iraqi leader.

Steven Brown, the owner of Autocontinental, said the car will be shipped from Baghdad to the owner withing the next 28 days. Currently the car is fitted with heated brown leather seats and a multi-CD changer as well as a climate control system. Autocontinental will upgrade the car with a new stereo which soldiers he says soldiers removed when they found the car.

Inden Design gives Porsche Cayman S 314-hp

The 2009 Porsche Cayman S won’t be revealed until later this year. Output is expected to be 303 horsepower up from the current Cayman S that produces 295 horsepower. That’s where Inden Design comes in - before the 2009 model arrives, the German tuner is offering a new performance kit.

With a new exhaust system and a small microprocessor, the 3.4 liter engine produces an additional 19 horsepower for a total of 314. The kit also includes H&R adjustable coil overs and 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/5 R19 tires on the front and 305/25 R19 at the back.

2009 Subaru Impreza WRX gets 265-hp, new 224-hp 2.5 GT model

For the 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX, Subaru is offering something all enthusiasts will love - more performance and better handling. Subaru is also introducing a new Impreza 2.5 GT powered by a 224-hp turbocharged intercooled engine mated to a standard 4-speed automatic transmission with SPORTSHIFT.

With a larger turbocharger and a new larger-diameter exhaust and low density catalyst, the Impreza WRX now produces 265-hp with a peak torque of and 244 lb-ft. The WRX comes standard with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Both Impreza models are available as a 4-door and 5-door and are equipped with Symmetrical all-wheel-drive system.
