Nissan GT-R deliveries to begin July 7th, 70% allocation sold

We recently saw a fleet of Godzillas land in Jacksonville, Florida and today Nissan announced that delivers of the 2009 Nissan GT-Rs are scheduled to begin on July 7th. Nissan said that more than 1,700 units of the GT-R have already been sold, approximately 70 percent of the first year allocation for the U.S.

Weird because Nissan has been saying that only 1,500 will make it to the stateside the first year. You can still get your hands on one if you act fast and are willing to pay the dealer gouging mark-ups. Officially the price for the 480-hp (although debatable) Nissan GT-R starts at $69,850 and $71,900 for the GT-R Premium model.

The GT-R is only available through certified Nissan dealers who have met sales, service and facility commitments. You can search for the list of 671 GT-R certified Nissan dealers on www.nissanusa.com.
