Suzuki will not be participating in the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit mainly because the space it was offered does not fill its needs. Along with Porsche, Suzuki is the second automaker leaving the Detroit Auto Show in the past two years.

Suzuki is the first automaker to say that the Cobo Center isn’t big enough to meet its needs. Wow, honestly if Suzuki is saying that than we don’t see a bright future for shows at Cobo.

We expected Suzuki to drop a production version of its Kizashi 3 based mid-sized sedan at Cobo early next year since the car is expected to hit markets in late 2009. Guess we’ll have to wait until the New York Auto Show, where this year it showed the Kizashi 3 concept and served us lunch.
