This is why BusinessWeek sucks when dealing with auto companies. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN! The last thing that either one of these large companies need is to get larger. Both are trying to downsize, not expand. GM does not need to take on a truck heavy Ford. Ford does not need to expand their car line up with mediocrity badged as Buick, Pontiac, and Saturn they already have Mercury. NO, NO, NO everyone just stay in their own corner and play nicely.
