2009 Chevrolet Traverse offers better fuel-economy than its Lambda brothers
The 2009 Chevrolet Traverse is the fourth model to be built on GM’S Lambda platform. However the new 7-passenger crossover offers more power and a better fuel-economy than its 2008 Saturn Outlook, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia brothers.
The new 2009 Chevrolet Traverse is powered by a 3.6 liter direct injection V6 capable of 288 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. That’s 18 more horses and additional 22 lb-ft of torque over its other Lambda siblings. According to the EPA, the front-wheel drive model can average 17/24mpg (city/highway) while the all-wheel-drive version gets 16/23mpg.
The Traverse will be offered in three different trim levels including LS, LT and LTZ models, in both front and all-wheel-drive. Pricing and availability details will be announced later this month.
