Toyota offering Ironman versions of the Tundra and Tacoma
Seems like a completely awkward time to go this route, but Toyota is offering a special edition Ivan “Ironman” Stewart versions of the Tundra, Tacoma and FJ Cruiser. Arriving later this year, dealers will offer Iron man conversions in their own service centers from kits supplied by Halo Special Edition Vehicles, of Irvine California.
The Ironman Tundra carries the same 5.7L V8 but produces 504-hp (compared to 381-hp) with a peak torque of 550 lb-ft (compared to 401 lb-ft). The Ironman Tacoma and FJ Cruiser will be powered by a 4.0L V6 that produces 304-hp (compared to 239-hp) with a peak of torque 334 lb-ft (compared to 278 lb-ft).
“I have total control over this,” Stewart said. “I didn’t want lift kits or monster tires. I wanted to keep it classy.”
The packages will generally start at $8,000 to $10,000, but a loaded version will run up to $20,000.
