So we already know that Nissan is working on a Infiniti baby coupe that will be based on the next-generation ‘Z.’ We also know that the car will arrive in the U.S. sometime in 2010 and will initially be offered as a coupe followed by a convertible.

InsideLine, reports today that according to a Nissan source, they learned the Infiniti coupe will be seen as a concept car during the early auto show season next year. The 2009 Detroit Auto Show may be a possibility but seeing as Nissan is giving Inifiniti a big push in Europe, we may see a Geneva debut.

Power for the new Infiniti coupe is expected to come from a 2.5L V6 engine, but we’d be very pleased with the Infiniti G37’s 3.7L V6 producing 330-hp. InisideLine also says that the Infiniti coupe will be a more luxurious and softer ride unlike the hardcore Nissan Z.

I would like to see both engines offered, the way the Lexus IS is offered with 2 engines.
