Ford cuts a shift of F-150 production, adds third shift to Crossovers

FoMoCo announced today it will cut one shift of the F-150 production indefinitely. While cutting the second shift at its Kansas City assembly plant, it will add a third shift to the Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner and Mazda Tribute production.
The Kansas City plant just came off a two-week shutdown of the Ford F-150 and is currently scheduled to produce the 2008 F-150 on two shifts for the next five weeks.
The plant just came off a two-week shutdown of F-150 production. It is currently scheduled to produce the 2008 model of the pickup on two shifts for the next five weeks. When the plant starts production of the 2009 F-150 on August 11th, it will build it on a single shift.
